PM Yatseniuk: Some 50,000 military participate in ATO

KYIV: For today, about 50,000 military have participated in the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) in Donbas, Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk said this while visiting the wounded servicemen at Kyiv’s main clinical hospital, the Governmental portal reported.

“Already at the moment about 50,000 fighters are members of the anti-terrorist operation,” he said.
According to Yatseniuk, of them “thousands are wounded, many families are left without a breadwinner.”

A reminder that the Cabinet of Ministers set up a separate state service for veterans, disabled persons, and participants in the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) in Donbas.

According to the National Security and Defence Council, during the anti-terrorist operation 568 military have been killed.

The other day we saw reports that the ‘Ukrainian’ army was on the verge of falling apart. Now we see reports that the Kiev junta has key resistance cities surrounded and resistance surrender seems to be immanent. Obviously, Ukraine put the (relative) lull in the fighting caused by the downed airliner to good use to reorganize and re-gun, all with US help and lots of fascist fighters and mercs, no doubt – but still, what a turnaround. And now Putin seems to be in full flight from his showdown stance. of a few months ago. Showdown turned into nuanced confrontation and now that seems to be turning into outright surrender in both Ukraine and Syria (s300s now definitively withheld from Syria = green light to US and Israeli bombing). How quickly things change when they change. Russia won’t even be able to hold onto Crimea now.

You’re right on all scores and brave to state your convictions.
The present defense chief in Kiev, when he was installed in his post some two months ago, promised a victory parade in Sevastopol, the capital of Crimea.
The way Putin and company have been (not) acting, Kiev is likely to get it.

Things always look different to an outsider like me and you. The West has baited Russia, but a commentator recently stated, when Russia takes the bait be assured it will also take the fisherman.

What is a different perspective from what everyone can see, that on U.S. and NATO orders and with their assistance their puppet regime in Kiev has waged war against its own people for 121 days and the Russian government has responded by – doing nothing.
Except, that is, refer to Poroshenko and his cronies as “our partners” after his forces have shelled Russian customs posts and shelled – and killed – Russian civilians on Russian territory. By treating Ukrainian government troops inside Russian territory – and boasting that it did so for free – and then allowing Ukrainian military aircraft to land on Russian territory to return them to combat duty in southeastern Ukraine.
I know where your angler metaphor came from – no wonder you’re so confused if you follow “commentators” like him.
Oho, but – haven’t we been assured of this for over four months now? – there is a secret plan being hatched in Moscow.
Putin has wisely, oh so wisely, avoided falling into a trap and has, moreover, saved the world from World War III and from nuclear war (as though the latter two were synonymous).
Yes, brother, and the moon’s made of green cheese…

Richard as I am unable to reply to your comment I will reply to myself.
My question to you is this quite simply. What do you think Putin should do? Get sucked in to a conflict like the West wants him to do. I’m interested what you would do.

Not now – it’s really too late – but nine months ago – I repeat, nine months ago – Putin should have made a call to the White House and told Obama what he would and would not tolerate in Ukraine.
Instead he wasted three weeks in Sochi promoting not Russia but himself, as a new Peter the Great bent on “Westernizing” his nation, while his western border was on fire and police officers were being murdered in cold blood in the streets of Kiev.
After Donetsk and Lugansk held referenda and declared themselves independent and requested Russian assistance, Putin, if he had been a responsible leader, or even a decent human being, should have clearly let it be known that Russia would not tolerate military action against those two republics.
And so forth. In short, what any halfway astute twelve-year-old could have figured out.
And, here I can’t contain myself any longer because I’m heard the same nonsense a hundred times over the past three months, what in hell do you mean by “sucked in to a conflict like the West wants him to do”?
What your words really denote is that Putin will not even defend his own borders, his own territory and his own people. And you justify, celebrate that?

Any sentence using the term “According to” ( anything Kiev is a giant red flag that what follows is a big fat lie. 10,000 is an appx death toll for Ukie soldiers.
