Metropolitan hopes “NATO will break up”
PODGORICA: Serbian Orthodox Church (SPC) Metropolitan of Montenegro and the Littoral Amfilohije once again said he was against Montenegro joining NATO.
He also said he hoped that NATO would break up.
“I hope to God that Montenegro will not join NATO that bombed us,” he told the Podgorica-based daily Dan.
Amfilohije believes that Montenegro would by joining the EU become a link in the military organization that “exerts violence upon the entire world”.
“Are we supposed to help Tomahawks and bombs become ploughshares and other tools for farming and the improvement of society and the human community?” asked the metropolitan in Herceg Novi.
“God, give us wisdom to help Europeans and Americans to dissolve NATO. That would be the biggest contribution of Montenegro to the world,” he pointed out.
He’s my man. What the Church should stand for. As Pope, Archbishop of Canterbury now near deaf mute on NATO mass violence, threats against where ever the choose, “religious” leaders war mongering, “Thou shalt not kill” long forgotten. A voice of sanity.
Western church leaders’ complicity in their nations’ crimes is appalling.
